First-Year Applicants

Free Application Day for CT Residents: November 1

Early Action Deadline: November 15

Students who submit complete their application on or before our Early Action deadline will receive their admission decision on December 15. Applications received after our Early Action deadline will be reviewed in the order in which they are received.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) opens December 2023. It is recommended that you submit your FAFSA at the same time as your admission application, or as soon as possible afterward.

Admission to Eastern is competitive. The Admission Committee considers many factors when evaluating applications for admission. The students admitted for last year's class:

• Earned an average GPA of 3.4 (4.0 scale)
• The middle 50 percent of admitted students who submitted SATs or ACTs scored:
  • Between 1020-1190 on the combined Reading/Writing and Math sections of the SAT
  • Between 19-24 composite on the ACT
• Demonstrated academic success in a rigorous schedule of college preparatory, honors, and/or Advanced Placement courses in high school

To apply for admission, applicants must submit the following information to the Office of Admissions:

1. A completed application for admission. We accept the Common Application (for fall 2024 applicants) or Eastern's Online Web Application (for spring 2024 applicants)
   
2. An official high school transcript and/or General Education Diploma sent directly from your high school.
3. SAT or ACT scores (only if you choose to send them; see test-optional policy).
4. One letter of recommendation, which may be from a teacher or school counselor.
5. The $50 application fee.

Please note: the above requirements are for domestic, first-year students only. International or transfer students should follow the application requirements outlined on those respective pages.

You may check the status of your application by clicking here. You will be prompted to enter your Admissions ID number (in the format of C0000xxxxxx), which is found in your Application Acknowledgment email. Your password is your date of birth in MM/DD/YYYY format, including back slashes.

Some email domains (including gmail and school districts) block these automated emails; if you did not receive an application acknowledgement email, please call Admissions at (860) 465-5286 to check the status of your application.

Once in your application status portal, you will see any missing documents listed. Please note that high school transcripts and SAT/ACT scores cannot be accepted if sent by the student. Please contact your school counselor to request they send your transcript, and CollegeBoard to request your official test scores. If there are no required documents listed and you see "No data available in table" within that section, your application is complete and ready for review by the Admission Committee.

Early Action decision notifications will be released on December 15, and admission decisions will be released on a weekly basis thereafter.

While interviews are not generally required of students applying for admission, we may request an interview with certain applicants to clarify information, and learn more about you and your interest in Eastern.

All students are strongly encouraged to visit the campus. The Admission information session and campus tour schedule may be found online here. You are welcome to meet with an Admissions Counselor after your tour; this meeting, unlike an interview, would not be an official component of your application.
