William Meehan ’65/’70 and Virginia Meehan ’68 established the The Meehan & Daughters Real Estate and Development Endowed Scholarship in 1997 to honor William J. and Irene Meehan, and Hazel and Stanley Sheldon Sr. It is awarded to a junior who has a minimum GPA of 2.9, has good academic promise, and unmet financial need. The donors ask that the student be from Windham, Willimantic, or surrounding areas, majoring in education, business or English, and have an interest in Canadian or Irish studies.
