Studio Art
The Studio Art Concentration offers courses in both traditional and alternative approaches, designed to develop observational skills and promote a high level of craft. Advanced students are encouraged to identify and develop a strong personal point of view in their coursework and studio practice.
After completing several foundation courses, students are required to submit a portfolio to enroll in 300-level (or higher) studio courses. Students whose portfolios do not meet standards may be required to take supplemental courses.

Portfolios must be carefully prepared according to guidelines available for download on the department website or in the Art & Art History Department office.
