Scholarships

Scholarships are considered gift aid, or "free money," because they do not have to be repaid. It is important to research and apply for scholarships that you qualify for to help pay towards your education. Receiving scholarships can help minimize the out of pocket expenses and lower the need to borrow student loans.

State of Connecticut Scholarships

The State of Connecticut also makes available The Governor’s Scholarship Program Scholarship for students who ranked in the top 20% of their high school junior class or have a combined SAT score (Critical Reading, Math and Writing) of 1800 or higher or an ACT Composite Score of 27 or higher.

The scholarship provides a merit-based award to Connecticut students with the above outlined credentials who will begin college in the fall 2013 and beyond. A FAFSA application and scholarship specific application are required by February 15th for the following academic year. The student must also maintain full-time status.
External Scholarships

External Scholarships are funded by a variety of agencies and organizations external to the University. Students can search for such scholarship opportunities by using FREE resources and should never pay a fee to search and apply for scholarships. You can also check out our External Scholarships.

When students are notified about the award of external private scholarships (Not offered by completing the FAFSA or from the University), the Financial Aid Office should receive both the Scholarship Letter and Check prior to it being posted to the student's account.
