Campus Resources

  • Tell Somebody Report - If a member of the University community observes any behavior that is concerning and that you believe needs to be brought to the attention of the the Student Intervention Team, individuals may report the behavior using the online report form which will then be forwarded to the appropriate team for review.
  • Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) - We all use someone to talk to sometimes. Whether you are navigating unsupportive family relationships, exoloring gender identity, or working through high school traumas, Counseling and Psychological Services has certified and qualified counselors who can work with you.
  • OAS Support Program - The OAS support program is available free of charge and is open to all Eastern students. This program is aimed at assisting OAS-registered students with transitioning and adjusting to the environment within a college setting. The program is student-driven and sessions are focused on academic and/or social skills based on the needs of the student.

  • True Colors: Sexual Minority and Family Resourses - True Colors is a non-profit organization that works with other social service agencies, schools, organizations, and within communities to ensure that the needs of sexual and gender minority youth are both recognized and competently met. The organization trains more than 2400 people annually, organizes the largest LGBT youth conference in the country with more than 3000 attendees and manages the state’s only LGBT mentoring program.
  • The Recovery Village - An LGBTQ+ drug and alcohol treatment resource center, with resources for LGBTQ+ people.

Magazines/Media

  • The AdvocateEstablished in 1967, is the oldest and largest LGBT publication in the United States and focuses on news, politics, opinion, and arts and entertainment.
  • LGBT History Month Magazine- LGBT History Month Magazine represents the diversity, sexual orientation, gender identity and the importance of equality and fairness.
  • Outfront Magazine - Out Front is one of the oldest and largest LGBT media networks in the nation.
  • CT Voice Magazine- Connecticut’s premiere LGBTQ quarterly magazine.

Mental Health/Suicide

  • It Gets Better Project - The It Gets Better Project’s mission is to communicate to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth around the world that it gets better, and to create and inspire the changes needed to make it better for them.
  • The Trevor Project - Urgent resources for immediate help including a 24-hour talk/text/chat hotline, and counseling.

National LGBTQ+ Organizations

  • Campus Pride - Campus Pride represents the only national nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization for student leaders and campus groups working to create a safer college environment for LGBT students.
  • Human Rights Campaign -Organization driven to advocate for equal right in the LGBTQ+ community and promote non-discrimination protection laws. They provide scholarship opportunities, and articles on current policy issues and lawmakers, as well as local and statewide concerns.
