Leap into Leadership offers students an opportunity to enhance campus culture by providing leadership training experiences. The programs encourage students to explore their own individual leadership development potential. Student participants will engage in events or in a series of sessions throughout the academic year that will enhance their Liberal Arts experience by exploring topics in line with the University's Core Values.

A series of leadership events held throughout the year to help enhance students’ leadership skills. These programs are offered to all students, but specifically target our students who have little to no leadership experience. These events will focus on the importance of leadership, the benefits it can provide and the skills that can be learned outside of the classroom.
Dance Floor Theory, September 11, 2023

Dust off your dance shoes and report to the dance floor!
In this highly engaging and interactive program, you will gain an immediate understanding and desire to get more involved on campus and take advantage of the amazing opportunities Eastern offers beyond the classroom. You will learn to make the most of your first 90 days of college.
The Leap Cohort is for first year and sophomore students who wish to develop their leadership skills in an 8-week program. Leadership skills are developed & strengthened through weekly sessions that focus on building a strong leadership foundation. Members of the cohort will also have the opportunity to select a mentor (a faculty or staff member at Eastern) who will support their leadership development. Students must commit to the full program to receive 15 priority points.
The Cohort will meet on Tuesdays in the Student Center from 3:45-5 p.m. beginning September 19, 2023 and ending November 14, 2023.
All interested students must complete the Interest Form which can be found on eWeb on the student services tab. (Click Student Activities and then click LEAP Interest Form).

Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society, recognizes and encourages superior leadership and exemplary character. O∆K encourages collaboration among members across the five phases celebrated by O∆K: scholarship, athletics, service, communications, and arts. Founded in 1914 at Washington and Lee University, O∆K honors and develops leaders through scholarships, workshops, career opportunities, leadership resources, and a lifelong connection to other members. The Eastern chapter of Omicron Delta Kappa was established in 1994 and was the first circle in New England. To date, over 850 faculty, students, alumni, and honorary members have been inducted into Eastern’s circle.
Applications for O∆K will become available to students in November of each year. Students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5, be either a sophomore, junior or senior by credit and must demonstrate leadership in the campus and/ or community.
Run for an Executive Board position on a student club/organization!
If you are a current member of a student organization at Eastern, consider applying for the President, Vice-President, Secretary or Treasurer positions. Most organizations host their elections each spring semester.
