Welcome to the Eastern Connecticut State University Commuter Information page! Eastern understands that commuter students are a unique population, with needs that differ from our residential students. Although you may not live on campus, we want you to consider Eastern your home away from home. This page is a one stop shop for information on events, services, and resources to help make Eastern feel like home.

Information

  • Lockers will be available beginning Tuesday, August 29, for the 2023-2024 Academic Year. 

    Lockers are limited, and are assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis. 

    Commuter lockers are located in the Student Government Association Office in the Student Center. Lockers can be rented, free of charge, by completing the online request form.

  • The Commuter Newsletter is sent bimonthly to inform commuters about upcoming opportunities and events! The newsletter is emailed to commuters' Eastern emails so they will automatically receive these updates. If you do not receive the newsletter and wish to be added to our mailing list please email commuters@easternct.edu.

  • Bulletin Boards located throughout campus provide current information on services, events, and other campus activities relevant to commuter students as well as residential students.

  • Eastern strives to provide sufficient, safe, and convenient parking for students, staff, and faculty commuting to campus. Review the Campus Parking Website for parking information regarding how to obtain a parking permit/decal, towing, handicap parking, parking appeals, and shuttle bus information.

  • CTrides is a free program that helps commuters find the best way to get to work or school. They provide resources for choice commuting options throughout Connecticut, including bus, rail, carpools, vanpools, biking, walking, and teleworking. For more information, visit their CTrides website.

  • public safety
    Safety is a top priority at Eastern, and Public Safety provides several services to ensure that you feel safe while on campus. Visit the services section on the Public Safety webpage to learn about the campus Bluelight Emergency System, Escort Services, and Shuttle Information. Or, you can call public safety at (860) 465-5310 for more information.

  • Meal plans aren't only for Eastern residents. Did you know there are dining options designed specifically for commuters? Visit the Eastern Card Services Page to find the perfect option for you! Or, if you like to bring a snack along, there are several locations where you can heat food in a microwave, including the first and second floor of the Student Center. View a listing of all the places to eat at while you are at Eastern.

  • You can find many important administrative offices in the Wood Support Services Center, including: Financial Aid, Bursars, and Card Services.
