Dear Alumni and Friends of Eastern:
Despite the challenges of the past few years, thanks to you, total giving to the ECSU Foundation, Inc., exceeded $2 million in seven of the past ten fiscal years! Your generosity has enabled the ECSU Foundation to award $3.55 million in scholarships over the past six years including a record $823,000 in scholarship awards in FY22.
When alumni donate to the ECSU Foundation it is an indication of the level of their satisfaction and a measure of how much they value the education that they have received at Eastern. We are extremely proud of the fact that over the past 16 years since Dr. Núñez arrived at Eastern, the annual alumni giving participation rate has consistently been the highest among Connecticut’s four state universities.
Thanks to the outstanding leadership of Dr Núñez and the wonderful faculty and staff at Eastern, the University achieved its highest ranking among public New England universities in the North Region for U.S. News and World Report “Best Colleges” rankings and was once again named a Green College by The Princeton Review for the 11th year in a row.
Notwithstanding the amazing support provided by Eastern’s alumni and friends, the availability of financial aid has not kept pace with increased costs and decreases in state aid. Despite the ECSU Foundation’s efforts to support as many students as possible, the reality is that many talented students still struggle financially to stay in school on a full-time basis. If you have not had a chance to make your gift in FY23 (closes on June 30), it isn't too late. Please remember that gifts of all sizes are always appreciated.
On behalf of all the members of the ECSU Foundation Board of Directors, I want to express our sincere appreciation for your continued support of Eastern. Once again, we are proud to report to our donors that the Foundation’s external auditors, CohnReznick, provided an unqualified opinion due to the careful attention to detail by the Foundation staff and management.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Justin Murphy '98, Esq.
President - ECSU Foundation, Inc.
