First Year Student Orientation

First-year students will participate in a two-day, overnight program called SOAR (Student Orientation, Advising & Registration). This program occurs during the month of June and students can select 1 of 4 sessions to attend. SOAR will allow you the opportunity to meet other new students, student leaders, faculty and staff, acclimate you to campus and finalize your fall class schedule. 

Registration for SOAR begins March 1. Click below on one of the SOAR sessions to register. 

SOAR 1: June 20-21

SOAR 2: June 22-23

SOAR 3: June 26-27

SOAR 4: June 29-30

SOAR 5: August 16 (this session is a 1 day program for late admits or those unable to attend the June SOAR sessions)

 All first-year students are charged an orientation fee and it is reflected in your itemized tuition bill. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Casey Kensey at kenseyc@easternct.edu.

Your Fall Class Schedule
The Advising Center will build Fall 2023 class schedules for all new incoming first-time students and they will be ready to view on June 9. Schedules will be built for students who have paid a tuition deposit. You will receive an email to your Eastern email account alerting you that your schedule is ready. This email will also include instructions for how to view your schedule in your eWeb account.

Finalize your Fall Schedule
Have questions about your schedule? Need to make changes? No problem! You will have the chance to meet with an advisor during SOAR to review and finalize your fall schedule.

Orientation Online will introduce you to the services and resources Eastern offers so that you can become a successful part of our campus community. Orientation Online will include videos, resources and checklists and you will have the opportunity to return to these modules at any point during the spring semester as an additional resource. 

Orientation Online will be available starting July 1 and you will have until August 11 to complete this mandatory orientation. On July 1, an email will be sent to your Eastern email account with information on how to access the program. 

 

 

Warrior Welcome occurs immediately after first-year student move-in on August 26 through August 28, 2023. All new first-year and transfer, residential and commuter students are required to attend.

Fall Warrior Welcome consists of three days of events and activities designed to help students acclimate themselves to campus and prepare for the start of classes.
