Eastern Connecticut State University’s Theatre program is premiering its first production of the 2021-22 school year. “The Place That Made You,” written and directed by Eastern professor Darcy Parker Bruce, will be on stage from Oct. 19-24.
Following a re-imagined version of the Old Testament story of Jonah and The Whale, “The Place That Made You” takes place in a coastal town in Connecticut. The show follows Jonah, who attempts to reunite with his best friend after a tragedy; Ben, who returns to her childhood home; and a giant white whale who haunts the town.
The play will be performed in the Proscenium Theatre of the Fine Arts Instructional Center at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 19, 20, 21, 22 and 23, and at 4 p.m. on Oct. 24.
