On May 28, officers from Eastern Connecticut State University and the Middletown Police Department partnered for the Third Annual Tip-A-Cop event at Amici’s Restaurant in Middletown. Officers served lunch and dinner to raise awareness and money for Special Olympics Connecticut. By the end of the day, officers had raised more than $2,000 in tips, funds that will support Special Olympics athletes so that they may participate in events and activities throughout the year.
On June 3-5, the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics will take place throughout the state, with Leg Four leaving from the Eastern Police Department at 8 a.m. on June 4. On June 6-7, the Special Olympics Connecticut Summer Games will take place at Southern Connecticut State University.
