On Monday, April 3, elementary school students from the Windham Public School afterschool programs will come to Eastern Connecticut State University for “Art and Culture Day,” focused on the art, culture, history and food of the country of Jamaica. The event will take place in the Student Center’s Betty R. Tipton Room from 2:30 p.m.–5 p.m.
Volunteers from the Center for Community Engagement have planned many educational and fun activities for the children, including dance and music, storytelling, learning to play the board game “Ludi”, tasting coco bread and beef patties, playing the game “dandy shandy” and learning about Jamaican national heroes.
