The Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 designates certain information related to a student as directory information and gives the University the right to disclose such information to anyone inquiring without written consent from the student. Directory information at Eastern is:
1. student's name, address, telephone number
2. school, major(s), minor(s), fields of study
3. participation in officially recognized activities and sports, weight and height of members of athletic teams
4. dates of attendance, degrees, and awards received
5. the most recent educational agency or institution attended by the student
6. expected date of completion of degree requirements and graduation
7. full- or part-time enrollment status
8. other similar information.
Students may withhold the release of directory information by completing the Request to Opt Out of Directory Information Form.
