DIGITAL ART & MEDIA DESIGN
Eastern’s Digital Art and Media Design concentration is an exciting program that seamlessly integrates the fundamentals of art-making with design and digital media. Digital Art and Media Design students graduate with an understanding of how design and digital art are woven into our culture. Additionally, they learn about the importance of creative and critical thinking as part of the design and art-making process comprehending its challenges, joys and goals.
The Digital Art and Media Design program is flexible and dynamic offering courses focused on the field of Visual Communication Design. This field is ever expanding with Eastern’s program encompassing both print and screen design, illustration, packaging, animation, fashion design, and working with actual clients. The Digital Art and Media Design program provides students with targeted coursework, in which to build a strong portfolio. A Capstone project, during the senior year, is designed to highlight a student’s creativity, critical thinking, and technical skills.
Digital Art and Media Design graduates find design careers in a multitude of industries and regularly pursue graduate degrees to further their education.
Software and Hardware RecommendationsOur program is primarily based on utilizing Apple hardware and Adobe Creative Suite software because of its dominance in the industry. But the program remains flexible and open to students employing other platforms that allow them to creatively solve their design projects. Specific course requirements remain at the discretion of the professor.
