Faculty and staff at Eastern have access to several sources of data and reports. Links and additional information about these resources are provided below.

The Office of Planning and Institutional Research (PIR) typically works with 'census data'. This is a data snapshot taken at regular intervals in the fall and spring semesters, including the 3rd week of classes. This approach provides reliable data to study trends over time, and is also the basis for many external reporting requirements, including IPEDS. Reports and information based on census data will deviate from those based on current data, including from reports generated in WebFOCUS. The census data remains static, whereas current data is continually changing.

  • The primary source of data and information is through eReports (available via. the WebFOCUS reporting environment). There are a number of standard reports available in eReports. These reports reflect current information. For example, the Student Extract report provides a roster of enrolled students as of the the prior day.

Note that when logging in, your username must be prefaced by 'ecsu\'. For example, username warriorw would enter ecsu\warriorw.

  • PIR has created the Department Data Portal to help the Eastern community better understand enrollment, student attributes and student outcomes both at the University as a whole, as well as within individual schools, departments and majors. The portal is based on data as of the third week census in fall 2011 through fall 2021.

Note that access to the Department Data Portal is currently restricted to department chairs and deans only. PIR will make the portal available to all faculty and staff as soon as possible.

  • The Office of Planning and Institutional Research (PIR) periodically publishes information and reports to a Sharepoint site, for distribution to the Eastern community.

  • Post-Secondary Employment Outcomes (PSEO) are experimental tabulations developed by researchers at the U.S. Census Bureau. PSEO data provide earnings and employment outcomes for college and university graduates by degree level, degree major, and post-secondary institution. These statistics are generated by matching university transcript data with a national database of jobs, using state-of-the-art confidentiality protection mechanisms to protect the underlying data.

The State of Connecticut 'Preschool through 20 and Workforce Information Network' (P20 WIN) provides a series of reports and visualizations showing the relationships between higher education credentials and the Connecticut labor market. Also limited to data from the Connecticut Department of Labor, this data provides insights on employment outcomes at the institution and program level.
