Eastern wins 5th consecutive Commissioner’s Cup
For the fifth consecutive year in which it has been awarded, Eastern has claimed the Little East Conference Commissioner's Cup, the conference's top honor for overall institutional athletic performance among the league's nine primary member institutions. The Commissioner's Cup was last awarded in 2019-20 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Eastern named a 2022-23 College of Distinction
Colleges of Distinction has recognized Eastern for a variety of distinctions in its 2022-23 rankings, including badges of distinction for Public Colleges, Connecticut Colleges, Business and Education Programs, Career Development, Equity and Inclusion, and Military Support.
Eastern names 2 permanent deans
After conducting national searches, Dr. Emily Todd is the new dean of the School of Arts & Sciences and Dr. Niti Pandey is the new dean of the School of Education & Professional Studies.
Windham NAACP presents scholarship to Eastern student
On June 4 at a packed house at the Lakeview Restaurant in Coventry, the Windham/Willimantic Branch of the NAACP presented Adalyse Gonzales ’22 a scholarship for her academic and athletic achievements. The award took place during the NAACP’s Annual Freedom Fund event.
Historian Tom Balcerski appears in ‘The Book of Queer’
History Professor Thomas Balcerski appeared in the first episode of the Discovery+ mini-series “The Book of Queer,” premiering throughout June for Pride Month. An expert on presidential history, Balcerski is interviewed about President Abraham Lincoln in the episode.
